Comparison between two things:





 Few teahcers in the world are as sharp as Senthil.
Senthil is sharper than most other teachers in the world.
But how?

·       Sub. + verb + As – positive adjective – as + obj.
·       Sub + verb + Comparative adjective + than + obj.
Positive : Birds do not fly as fast as the aeroplane.
Comparative : The aeroplane flies faster than birds.
Positive. --This razor is not as sharp as that one.
Comparative. -- That razor is sharper than this one.

Comparative : Chennai is bigger than most other cities in India.
(positive degree) Few boys in the class are as clever as Abhishek.
(comparative degree) Abhishek is cleverer than most other boys in the class. 
Positive. -- Few cities in India are as rich as Mumbai.
Comparative. -- Mumbai is richer than most other cities in India.
Positive : Few metals are as costly as gold.
Comparative : Gold is costlier than most other metals.
Positive : Few fruits are as sweet as the mango.
Comparative: Mango is sweeter than most other fruits.
